25 January, 2015
Hello my lovely readers, I hope 2015 is off to a brilliant and stylish start for you all. At this time of year we all tend to reflect on what’s important to us in our lives and how we might find more meaning and feel more connected with others and we get busy putting these ideas into practice, perhaps inspired by the collective energy of others starting to make changes in their lives.
Seeing fellow bloggers reflect honesty on their own journeys in the fashion blogosphere inspired me to reconnect with my original vision for the style tracker. I’m not sure my message has come across in all of my posts however I created this blog to celebrate diversity among women, and to encourage and inspire women of all shapes and sizes (myself included) to celebrate themselves as they are, in their journey to cultivating their own unique style.
So in keeping with my purpose for The style tracker, and as a response to requests from some of my lovely readers asking how I style things in real life I’ll be including a regular post on “how I’m wearing it”. As I alluded to in my bio I’m uncomfortable with photos of myself, I’ve struggled with my body image ever since age 11, when I started dieting, so it’s taken me a few weeks to muster the courage to put photos of myself on this site.
The first glimpse into my style is inspired by the artful styling of this scarf from MM6 Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2015 Collection pictured below.
Below is my everyday take on the look with jeans and a tee, albeit a windswept version, courtesy of Melbourne’s unpredictable weather. Thanks to the lovely Kate Leddick who has taken these pics.
I would recommend styling your scarf like this when you are not contending with gale force winds. I’d love to hear how you would wear it.
